MP-Sensor is launching the newly developed P.Touch series of pressure sensors at the SPS 2021 trade fair in Nuremberg. The innovative and unique operating concept with a longitudinally installed touch screen and a virtual scroll wheel takes industrial sensors to a completely new level in terms of simplicity and intuition in operation for the first time. The multitude of possibilities that this opens up gives the Industry 4.0 claim of modern sensor technology a new dimension.

On the one hand, the 160x80 pixel TFT display enables the menu items to be displayed in plain text; cryptic abbreviations, the meaning of which has to be laboriously searched for in operating instructions, are a thing of the past. Furthermore, a lot of additional information can be displayed on a screen if required, so that the set switching point values or the pressure unit can be seen at a glance in addition to the current pressure value. On the other hand, operation via touch screen ensures an intuitive and unrivaled simple operating concept.

The stainless steel housing and the geometrically protected glass display result in a minimalist, aesthetically pleasing and extremely compact and robust design, which also sets new standards in this respect. The absence of mechanical operating elements ensures a high degree of wear resistance. Only this patent-pending design makes it possible to achieve this compactness in a pressure sensor with display. The longitudinally arranged display and the electrical M12 connection “in line” enable installation in the tightest of spaces. The P.Touch is therefore up to 50% more compact than previous pressure sensor designs, with a display of approximately the same size.

The pressure sensors in the P.Touch series enable reliable measurement of process pressures in industrial environments. They are ideal for almost any application, for example for monitoring pressure in hydraulic systems, monitoring the supply of cooling lubricant or measuring process pressure on injection molding machines.

The P.Touch is the first product based on the new MP sensor platform for fluid sensor technology. Over the next few years, the portfolio will be continuously expanded and supplemented with sensors for other measured variables in fluid technology. As all future sensors will be based on this platform, they will be visually very similar and will also have a TFT touchscreen-based operation.
